Tech Delegation to Japan - Innovation Leaders Summit 2023
The Department for Trade and Investment (DTI) is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from South Australian services and technology businesses to join a delegation to Tokyo, Japan from Monday, 4 December to Thursday, 7 December 2023 coinciding with 11th Innovation Leaders Summit (ILS) 2023.
The delegation to will have opportunities to expand your networks through the activities and support initiatives including:
- Pre-departure Japan market briefing and pitch coaching (Japanese – English interpretation).
- In-market program, including business meetings and networking events.
- DTI subsidised and supported participation for 11th Innovation Leaders Summit, including program and event initiatives.
- Access to the Team Australia booth at the 11th Innovation Leaders Summit.
- In-market support from DTI’s Japan team.
ILS is the largest open innovation event in Asia, the 10th ILS had more than 16,000 participants and almost 3,000 business meetings held. The 11th ILS provides an opportunity to showcase your innovative products or services through Power Matching and VC Matching with Japanese corporations.
The program will be delivered in collaboration with the South Australian Government’s Department for Industry, Innovation and Science and the Australian Government’s Department of Industry Science and Resources and Austrade.

Eligibility
- Must be a South Australian business with an ABN.
- Businesses that can self-fund all expenses associated with travel, meals, accommodation, freight, and marketing collateral (including visas and passports).
- Have an export-ready product or service.
- Be able to scale internationally and demonstrate your interest in exporting to the Japan market. Backed by sufficient capital to fund an expansion.
- Have the capacity to export to Japan and a desire and patience to pursue export to the Japan market.
