Celebrating the State’s best in food and beverage

13 Nov 2023
The State’s best food and beverage producers – including iconic brands like Beerenberg and Kytons Bakery – were celebrated at the South Australian Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards over the weekend.

The awards – which saw 25 businesses receive gongs across 15 categories – recognise exceptional contribution to South Australia’s food and beverage sector and economy.

Beerenberg, in Mount Barker, and Kytons Bakery, Edwardstown, received the Consumer Award voted by the public. Meanwhile Edinburgh-based family-owned cheesemaker La Casa Del Formaggio was inducted into the Hall of Fame for its significant and sustained contribution to the sector over many years.

Department for Trade and Investment-sponsored export award was won by premium Forestville honey producer Pure Origin (for businesses with up to 15 FTE) and Riverland-based Almondco Australia (for businesses with more than 15 FTE).

Almondco recently won the Agribusiness, Food and Beverages category award in the South Australian Premier’s Business and Export Awards, announced in September.

South Australia’s food and beverage industry is the state’s largest manufacturing sector, delivering year-on-year growth for over two decades.
