Surgeons learn from SA-based 3D body parts

22 Nov 2023
More than 80 surgeons in training from across the globe, have descended on Adelaide to learn from a company specialising in printing 3D advanced manufacturing anatomical body parts.

Fusetec’s Advanced Surgical Training Clinic is positively disrupting the cadaver market by providing fully operable manufactured products with no harmful infectious diseases, and pathology on demand.

The clinic attracts surgeons and medical staff from around the globe to rehearse and upskill on rare and complex pathologies, creating a new surgical tourism market for South Australia.

The company, which recently received funding approval by the South Australian Government for the Global Expansion Program, produces surgical training models that perfectly mimic human anatomy.

This allows surgeons to practice rare and specialised procedures across disciplines including orthopaedics; vascular medicine; neurology; ear, nose and throat and gynaecology.

Fusetec’s 3D clinic is one of the only locations, globally, where surgeons can upskill and rehearse on advanced manufactured models that translate to living patients and de-risk medical procedures for patients and medical professionals.
